This was a pretty good Hidden-Object game, as far as they go. It's published by Artifex Mundi, so it's made in some East European village no one ever heard of, and uses the same basic game engine as the rest. Once again you play as Sarah 'MacGuyver' Pennington of the Secret Order of Royal Griffins, and you have to foil the plans of the Evil Overlord Quiron of the Evil Dragon Secret Order. And you have to rescue your mother, Mom Pennington, who gets kidnapped or in trouble like 4 different times. Quiron is persistent, I'll give him that.
The Hidden-Object scenes were the usual Artifex Mundi collection: most of them involved a list of roughly 12 names, and you have to find them in the scene in front of you. If they are immediately obvious, they are colored white, and if they are hidden behind or inside of another object, they are colored blue. Sometimes, if they are hidden behind or inside something else, the cursor will turn into a hand if you hover over the appropriate knife or scissors, so that indicates that you need to manipulate this item and move it over to the bag or purse that needs cutting.
None of the mini-games stood out in the main game as exceptionally hard or easy, though I am happy to say that there were no sliding puzzles. One puzzle in the bonus content was a pain, involving spinning 3 wheels until all the balls on the wheels were in the right wheel, but once I figured out the trick to it, it only took about 10 minutes.
This game has 93,523,654 different types of collectibles, as you can see if you look at the achievements page. Out of roughly 20 achievements, 3 are for finishing the game, 3 are for doing HOGs and mini games, and about 14 are for each set of collectibles that you gather. So add or subtract a thumb if you like or hate collectibles.
There was no back-tracking in the Sierra-adventure game portion of 'Secret Order 6.' You are stuck at around 3 or 4 rooms at a time and have to solve some over-arching puzzle before moving on to the next set of 2 or 3 rooms. So if you're missing an item, you know it's going to be somewhere on screen or one of the adjacent screens, not somewhere on the Moon. So that's a plus: no moon logic needed for the scavenger hunting.
The story takes place in and around some Aztec ruin to the God Quetzcoatl, who obviously makes a cameo in the bonus game, needing you to get his laundry and various other fetch quests. (He's simply to large to leave his room, I guess.)
